Most Popular NCAA Basketball Teams
Texas Tech, Kentucky and Tennessee are the most popular college basketball teams in the country by county, according to a map powered by Vivid Seats college basketball ticket sales data.
The Lone Star State has by far the most counties of any state, including a number of sparsely populated counties in the western half of the state. That and the team's Final Four run in 2018 propel Texas Tech to the top of the list.
College basketball blue blood Kentucky is the country’s second most popular team, and Tennessee, which has enjoyed a basketball resurgence in recent years, is third.
