First formed in Michoacan, Mexico in 1975, when Marco Antonio Solis, Joel Solis (Marco's cousin), Enrique "Kike" Gonzalez and the rest of the group were still in their teens. Falso Amor, their debut album featuring a popular single of the same name, immediately catapulted the band into stardom across Central America, South America, Mexico and the United States. Los Bukis went on to produce classics like "Tu Carcel," "A donde vayas" and "Como fui a enamorarme de ti." The lineup of the group changed, but over the course of two decades, Marco Antonio Solis guided the band to numerous Lo Nuestro Awards and critical acclaim for both traditional Latin classics and pop ballads alike. In 1996, Marco Antonio Solis pursued a solo career and the group disbanded. Twenty-five years later, Los Bukis (Marco Antonio Solis, Jose Solis, Roberto Guadarrama, El Chivo Cortez and Pedro Sanchez) reunited for a surprise livestream concert and later a tour announcement for their Una Historia Cantada tour. In 2024, Los Bukis will made Las Vegas history when they performed the first ever full Latin and Spanish-language residency at Dolby Live.
