College Football Playoff Structure

Introduced during the 2024-2025 season, twelve teams will be selected for the playoffs. The five highest ranked conference champions will make the Playoff, with the four highest ranked of those teams being awarded seeds #1-4 and a first round bye. There is no limit on how many teams from one conference can make the College Football Playoff. However, there are no guaranteed spots for any conference. There is also no minimum ranking for the five highest ranked conference champions, who are guaranteed spots. For example, if the fifth ranked conference champion is ranked #24, they will still be given a spot over teams ranked #12-23.
