  In January 2007, the Edmonton Oilers recorded their 1000th franchise NHL victory against Florida. They became the third fastest team to reach 1000 victories after Montreal and Philadelphia.

At the beginning of January, the Edmonton Oilers picked up Peter Nedved from Philadelphia. Later, the team recalled Zack Stortini from Hamilton on January 19.
