Sabres February 2007 Newsletter

Early in the season, the Sabres won their first 10 games. They managed to set an NHL record by winning their first ten road games of the season, not losing outside of HSBC Arena before November 18 in Ottawa.

On January 9, 2007, it was officially stated that three members of the team had been voted to begin the All-Star Game for the Eastern Conference. They are forward Daniel Briere, defenseman Brian Campbell, and goaltender Ryan Miller. In addition, as the Buffalo Sabres were the best in the Eastern Conference as of the end of All-Star voting. The team’s head coach Lindy Ruff was chosen to coach the Eastern Conference team. Briere scored a goal and 4 assists, and was named Most Valuable Player of the match. Thomas Vanek was also chosen to play in the YoungStars game during the All-Star Weekend.

On January 13, 2007, the Sabre Jason Pominville recorded his 20th goal of the season, becoming the fourth Sabre to record 20 goals before the All-Star break. Daniel Briere became the 5th Sabre to record his twentieth goal on January 30 during the game against the Boston Bruins. The Buffalo Sabres are currently first in their division.
