Thursday night saw the Pittsburgh Pirates take on and demolish the New York Yankees by a final score of 4-2. Paul Maholm was the player of the night for the Yankees as he got a chance to redo his start against the Yankees after a previous interleague nightmare on June 26. Lasting 8 innings and only giving out seven hits and one walk, Maholm documented 24 outs. McLouth’s homer and second and third base steal in the 5th helped pave the way to end a Yankees winning streak who had won the past 5 games. The Yankees will seek to look past this defeat as they now face another tough game against the Blue Jays at Toronto.
