The subway series ended with Oliver Perez pitching 7 innings allowing only 3 hits and 1 earned run while striking out 8. Carlos Delgado hit his 14th home run of the year and Luis Castillo had a 3 hit performance with an RBI for the Mets. The Yankees managed just one run on 4 hits, with Wilson Betemit hitting his 4th home run of the year in the 7th inning.
