The New York Yankees suffered another major blow when Alex Rodriguez was put on the 15 day disabled list on Wednesday. A strained right quadriceps has made it difficult for him to play for the next couple of weeks. He had injured himself on April 20 and had missed a total of three games. He had however returned for a four game series that was held at Cleveland. In the Monday night's game against the Indians he complained that he experienced a pull in his legs while he was running the bases.
Rodriguez remarked that he was disappointed and he did not like the fact that he was not being of much use to his team. In the hospital he was told that he might have to skip the rest of the season. The team doctors however told him that it was a Grade 2 injury and he should be fine within two weeks. Rodriguez also mentioned that he was a quick healer and is optimistic that he would be up and about within 15 days. This is the 5th time that he has been placed in the DL list. The last time it had happened it was in 2000 when he suffered from a strained knee.
