The 2014 Outside Lands Music and Arts Festival will kick off on Friday, Aug. 8, with sets from dozens of talented performers, ranging from country artist Kacey Musgraves to rap star Kanye West, from electronic outfit Disclosure to rock band Arctic Monkeys. This San Francisco music festival will celebrate its seventh year at the bayside Golden Gate Park with great live music, delicious food and drink, and innovative art exhibitions.

Single-day Outside Lands passes come in the form of both general admission and VIP options for Aug. 8. While the GA passes allow access to all the main stages, the VIP options include admission to the Polo Club, shaded areas, private viewing platforms, and VIP restrooms and concessions areas.

Children of all ages must have a ticket to enter, but the organizers discourage bringing any especially young children to the festival. All the performances are scheduled to take place rain or shine, but umbrellas are prohibited. Fans can bring blankets inside the festival grounds, and each attendee will be permitted to bring up to two sealed water bottles with a capacity of one liter or less. Alternatively, empty plastic water bottles or Camelbaks will also be allowed.
When attending the festival on Aug. 8, be sure to leave the following items at home: large bags and backpacks, skateboards, scooters, strollers, glass containers, cans, recording devices, tents, hard coolers, and chairs.

Inside the festival grounds will be a number of unique concessions areas, many of which will feature options from local restaurants, wineries, and breweries. Food options will vary, but there are sure to be a range of standard festival offerings in addition to vegan and vegetarian selections.

Parking in and around Golden Gate Park is very limited, but some parking passes may be available to purchase for Aug. 8. Outside Lands strongly recommends taking San Francisco's many public transportation options to the festival. Attendees arriving via bicycle can also take advantage of the fest's free bike parking areas on site.

On Friday, Outside Lands aims to open its gates at 11 a.m. local time. Performances are slated to begin at noon and carry through until around 10 p.m.
Outside Lands Music and Arts Festival Accessibility
Guests with wheelchairs are encouraged to utilize the Access Entrance, near the intersection of 36th and JFK Drive, to enter on Aug. 8. The area in front of this entrance is also a designated drop-off zone. Elevated viewing areas will be open on a first-come, first-served basis throughout the day on Friday, and two stages--Lands End and Twin Peaks--offer assisted listening devices.
